Big Buddies/Little Buddies

1974..  Big Brothers Big Sisters of Langley developed the Big Brother program, providing emotional support to selected boys and in 1979, were given chapter status by Big Brothers of Canada.

1992..  Because of community need, they expanded to begin offering their service to girls.

1996..  The organization, in order to meet the growing need for service to children, youth and families in the community, began offering the “In-School Mentoring” program through a partnership with the Langley School District.

Every week volunteers spend time reading, drawing and playing with children they have been paired up with.
The program gives the children a chance to bond with the volunteer mentors.

Mission Statement

Commit to the Langley area young people that we will be leaders in providing them with the highest quality, volunteer based mentoring programs, to help them reach their full potential.
